A 9-year-old boy with moderate mental retardation, bipolar disorder, and oppositional defiant disorder with aggression and some compulsions was being treated with paroxetine (30 mg qd), lamotrigine (100 mg bid), and trazodone (50 mg qhs prn for sleep). He had been taking all of these for a minimum of 4 months, with initially good results.
